Do Christmas Right-10 Tips to Not Gain Weight

Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorite days of the year. Christmas dinner is just weeks away in the United States and Canada, and the turkey and ham have been bought and are waiting to be eaten. This Christmas you may be paying attention to your nutrition and well-being and I hope you’ll feel better when you go shopping after Christmas Day by looking at these tips.

1. Decide what you’re going to eat every morning before you start. Think about 3 meals and 3 snacks. No one is telling you that you can’t have a snack, then dinner after a while, and then be thirsty after a while.

2. Exercise immediately after getting out of bed. This will help you focus on your fitness and how your body feels that day.

3. Drink plenty of water starting in the morning and throughout Christmas Day. We all know how important it is to drink water and stay hydrated. Water also keeps your body from feeling hungry throughout the day and makes you feel a little fuller.

4. Eat a small breakfast to set up a slow eating day. Maybe some bran and banana or some other filling would be nice.

5. Again, you should eat a small lunch.

6. Try to eat a light meal an hour or two before dinner and then go for a walk. This is the first real opportunity to change what you eat on a day that can usually be bad. Try to do something interesting and out of season. I love fruit salad, so you can always make a fruit salad and eat it with fat-free frozen yogurt.

7. Eat everything for dinner, but only small portions of each food. The important thing is not the amount of food, but to taste all the dishes on the table. Remember, you may have leftovers for a few days in small portions.

8. If the weather is good, walk again. The worst thing for me is that after Christmas or Christmas dinner there is no energy so you just sit down and fall asleep from the tryptophan in the turkey and then you don’t want to get up at all. Why not take a walk around the neighborhood instead?

9. Dessert. If you can, try making the dessert yourself so you can be sure how good or bad it is for you. My wife is always the designated dessert person for family gatherings because it’s not so bad for you, always different ad always tastes really great. One of my favorites today is Angel Food Cake with Strawberries and Cool Whip

10. Try to keep things interesting in the evening by playing interactive games or letting the kids play. What you want to do after dinner and dessert is to avoid the habit of snacking even when you’re full.

Christmas is a day that people always associate with a lot of food and my point is don’t go hungry on Christmas, instead make sure you have a good day and eat healthy so you don’t starve yourself. lots of heavy food and feeling better the next day.
