Skinny Guys – 5 Tips to Gain Muscle Fast
I’m always looking for ways to build muscle fast. This article hits close to home for me, I’m a skinny guy who always wants to get ripped, but never can. Until I learned some key lessons that I want to share with you today.
In today’s world, there is so much focus on losing weight and burning fat that there is often nothing to turn to skinny people who want to add muscle. Then skinny guys find weight gainers and try them or some other crappy supplements and never really understand why they’re not big and muscular like the other guys in the gym.
Well hard gainers there is hope for you! Here are 5 ways to build muscle fast for skinny people
1) 10 Reps Max
If you lift more than 10 reps, then you are using more slow twitch muscles. Keep the weights heavy and don’t exceed 10 reps. You need to hit the maximum number of muscle fibers. If your goal is to really get ripped, then you need to go into heavy weight mode.
2) Fast and Intense
Hardgainer training should be intense, you don’t need to spend two hours a day in the gym to grow lean muscles. Your sets should be completed closer together, I generally believe in 30-60 seconds of rest between sets. Between different exercises, try to prepare and start your first rep in about 2 minutes.
To begin with you may feel out of your comfort zone. Trust me though this one tip alone will increase your muscle density dramatically over the next month or two.

3) Max Out Only Once Each Muscle Group
You don’t have to fail every time you lift weights. You want to keep your muscles stimulated and in growth mode. However, you don’t want to spend 2 weeks trying to get it back. This is not an effective muscle builder and is not one of the fastest ways to build muscle.
If you do a heavy workout and fail, then you are aiming for about 90% of the way to failure for the rest that will do more than enough to stimulate the muscles. For example, if you work your shoulders and do a press and an upright row in one day. Select the press and go to Failure in people. But don’t fail in the upright row and whatever you do for your shoulders.
4) Focus on Compound Exercises
You won’t build the muscle you want by doing shoulder shrugs and leg extensions. This is not one of the ways to build muscle fast. There’s definitely time for this, but let’s do it because it’s easier said than done.
Your hardgainer training should focus on the following types of training. Legs – Squats and Deadlifts (this is the most important of all) Chest – Bench press, and Dips Back – Rows and Pull ups or Pull Downs Shoulders – Presses
It’s very simple, you can vary this exercise by doing it at different angles and different orders, but this is an exercise that will improve you. Simple as that.

5) Put it on another plate
You should keep a log, I suggest that you take a little log book around with you in the gym. Keep a routine and track your reps/sets and weight. You can also put small notes, like the feeling of muscles, etc.
This way you can track your progress. You should try to increase your weight by about 5% every other week. You just have to keep adding to it in order to build and stimulate those muscles. Especially if you are a hard gainer trying to get ripped.
This isn’t your typical bodybuilding advice, but if you’re reading this and you’re a skinny guy looking to get ripped, you’re not a typical bodybuilder. You are looking for a way to build muscle fast and this is the best way to do it. Like I said in the intro, I’m 6′ tall and about 155 lbs wet. Now I’m 6′ but have graduated to 200lbs and that’s real muscle. Trust me a nut pole like me can tear you apart too.
