These models didn’t get their great bodies and six pack abs by doing crunches or using boring gadgets and neither will you.

The body doesn’t work like that. You need to exercise and mobilize the main muscle groups of your body. This is best done with proper cardio and resistance training. Do an intense 10-minute workout with free weights or beat the kettlebell to a 45-minute workout with that super duper ab rocker you bought from that infomercial at 2am last Saturday.

You don’t need a private club or an expensive gym membership. Just cheap weights you can get at garage sales or cheap kettlebells. Doing a routine of front squats, lunges and deadlifts will start your body to burn fat and accumulate. That is, the more muscle you cut, the more fat you burn—even when you’re resting.

Cardio is also great but not boring, dull, repetitive but cycle or interval training. For example, don’t walk for 15 minutes on a treadmill at 3 mph. But do 3 sets of 5 minutes each with different speed and intensity, This will be more effective in burning fat and strengthening your heart. If you’re dangerously or unhealthy fat, that’s okay because 75% of your fat loss results will be diet changes. An uncomplicated way to start adjusting your diet is to do ONE idea per week to bring your diet into a better state. For example, cut out fast food trips for a week. Just stopping drinking soda will lose 25 pounds in a year.

Slowly start adding fresh and living foods to your diet. Instead of hitting up the vending contraption for snacks try a handful of raw pecans and raisins. Instead of a fast food breakfast sandwich, have fresh melons in the season. It is a tragedy that we are fat and still hungry for the basic nutrients the body needs to work.

If you continue to adjust your diet and add resistance training to your workouts you will start to add more muscle which will help you burn more fat. The first goal in any training plan – abs training in particular is to remove the outer layer of fat that covers your muscles! Then they can share and you will be able to realize your true form. You have to have some patience and unswerving and follow through. Work with your body – “train” not “pain”.
