Once you can jog a few miles every day more pounds will start to fall off. This not only maintains weight for optimal liver health, but also for the whole body.

Now we need to touch on the other part of the equation to maintain a beneficial nutritional program for the best chance of having a problem-free liver for life… as well as all the other organs of the body. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “Preventive medicine is always cheaper than the after effect.” Once your health is gone, especially your heart! They can’t make you new. That’s why I wonder what they want to eat.

Whole fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds are a diet you should eat for a healthy body throughout life and into old age. Avoid alcohol and smoking. The most beneficial for liver health is the cabbage family, especially brussels sprouts, cabbage and broccoli. Water soluble fiber like apples, nuts, pears and oat bran.

Continue this healthy lifestyle with daily mineral and multivitamin supplements. Add some high-quality foods like eggs, onions and garlic. Do not forget beets, carrots, turmeric, artichokes, cinnamon and dandelion. My favorite drink is a lot of water, mixing all fruit juices especially cranberry and pomegranate juice with green tea. If you must eat some meat, then stick to fish, such as salmon, tuna, sardines and rainbow trout. Turkey and chicken are good to go.

Stay away from refined sugar, butter and saturated fat. These will be cookies, cakes, candies and pies. Basically the whole group of baking items. I give a fair warning, this type of diet takes some getting used to, but the reward is the ticket to a long life running fitness excellence keeping the heart healthy and the whole body well!
