Stop Cheating Yourself

Here I am again… I lose focus… I let life get in the way… I let my mind get the best of me… I use every excuse in the book! Stop lying to yourself!

Yes, I’m talking to you!! (I mean!!… oh and you!! haha) Stop lying to yourself!!

Back in February I said I’m going to get in shape, I’m going to make a plan, I’m not going to mess with my health anymore, I’m going to do this for me, I want to make this a habit that I enjoy doing every day…

but then you know what happens, right??? The mood I was talking about is gone!! I stuck with the goal for 3-4 months and then I thought I would take a break and change it up! Changing it is my mind’s way of helping me lose focus. I lost focus and even though I didn’t consciously decide what I wanted was not important…subconsciously I was! Stop lying to yourself!

Now I feel like a failure and can’t believe I lost focus and let it happen! Ugh!

And can you believe I’ve felt that way before!

Many times in my life I make a good plan, start it, do it for a while, then the mood leaves me and I forget all about the plan. Do you have to deal with this in your life? So, stop lying to yourself!

Here’s what I found on the road!

I’ve found that the time between me losing focus and the time I realize I’ve lost focus gets shorter and shorter each time it happens. I’ve been here now for about 2-3 weeks…just hanging out…doing the meal plan but no exercise! This morning as I thought about my plans for the week, I realized what I had been waiting for. I lose focus and I get caught up in other people’s problems making them more important.

Stop lying to yourself!

Let’s make a new plan, evaluate where we are now! Let’s celebrate our achievements!! I know that my plan is more than what I have done. I also do not spend any time beating myself up, saying I’m a failure, saying I’m not good enough, I can’t do this! None of that!! I used to! And I know that doesn’t serve me well! Now I look at what I have accomplished during the time I have focused on my goals…instead of what I have not accomplished!! This time I got stronger, found a workout I loved, made friends with food, learned how to balance my life, discovered great recipes, made supportive friends and a like-minded community. I have grown so much this time how can I spend any time in the negative? Stop lying to yourself!!

You are worth it!

Stop lying to yourself! Back to your plan! Pick up where you left off! Celebrate your achievements! Make a new plan! Edit if necessary! Find the friends you made for your support! And if you don’t have like-minded friends with similar goals, find some! This has been the key to my success this time!! I missed being connected with him a few weeks ago!

Set a goal and stay committed!!

This can be a cycle that we have to go through as we create new habits for ourselves. Habits are hard to change, so be careful! If you lose focus looking at it is just that… you lose focus!! Nowhere else!! Then put the focus glasses back on and jump again!! You are worth it!!
