Portable fitness equipment has evolved from lightweight resistance bands and ankle weights used in aerobics classes. How do I know this? This is all I have done and all my father Bobby Hinds has done. My father started a portable fitness equipment startup with a bead jump rope and exercise program in 1973, which led to the Jump Rope for Heart program. Because of all these benefits, portable fitness equipment is a common term in the fitness industry. I think my Dad and his company, Lifeline USA, are a big reason portable fitness equipment is such an integral part of the fitness industry today. I have always believed in portable fitness equipment, so much so that I opened up Monkey Bar Gymnasium in 2001. A note about Resistance Cables – 3 big points:

1) Non-Constant range of motion – means you have to react and balance the resistance, this improves motor function and performance greatly.
